WeatherTech - Totally Disappointed at Customer Service

After two attempts at a response. I did get a repy from a very nice person, who went above and beyond my request to send a new window vent at my expense, and sent me a whole new set at no charge.

Original review May 23, 2018
I have been a repeat customer of floor mats, window deflectors, and tonneau covers. I have always been satisfied with the products.

Recently I contacted customer service about a window deflector received fractured. I have never received a response. I also think it is unreasonable that ALL products must be returned in original packaging. In my case the original packaging was not suitable for reusing.

It is not apparent that you have to use original packaging for return until you have cut open the package to inspect the product. So basically I am out of luck. Only one deflector was damagd. The other was useable.

In fact my online query to customer service stated this, and my request was how to purchase just one deflector. I should not have to pay the full price for a completely new set.

Have you considered submitting another e-mail or better yet calling their 800 number? You are more likely to get a solution to your problem doing that than posting a complaint on a web site not related to the company.

Actually Anonymous I emailed customer service twice, and called the 800 number. After holding for 10minutes I did hang up.

Floorliner performance

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
The right front floorliner mats tend to slide forward because of contact with shoes. There are no retention clips like on the driver's side. And no protrusions/spikes have been added on the bottom surface (as on original production & competitor's products) to dig into the carpet.

No customer satisfaction

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I called to see what it would take to return my Weathertech cargo mat. I mentioned that i purchased it from them last fall and was answered with, "we have a 30 day return policy". They did not ask what the issue was why i wanted to return the mat. "That's it?" I replied. "Yep, 30 days" was the answer. So, when Weathertech says they are about "customer satisfaction", be clear that weathertech wants you satisfied until the sale.

Volvo XC 60 Liners leak

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have a 2016 VolvoXC 60 and I purchased a set of custom fit floor liners for the vehicle. To my dismay the driver side mat leaks by the retaining clips that hold the mat to the floor . The only way to repair the liner is to disassemble the clips and silicone them together so the water can not leak by. Otherwise the liners work great.. I called Weathertec and spoke to a customer sales representative. They did mention that they were aware of the problem but have yet to come up with a solution. Hopefully Weathertec will repair the flaw...

Weathertech - Not what I expected

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I purchased Weathertech mats for the front, second seat and cargo liner. The vehicle is a Lexus LX470. When the items arrived, the first indication was how thin they were. For the cost and advertisement, I expected something more heavy duty. Having been in the box, I laid out each of the mats to regain their shape. When ordering the cargo liner, it was asked if my vehicle had a 3rd row of seats. I replied "Yes" thinking I would receive the cargo liner with the needed holes cut. I don't know why Weathertech asked that questions because the product comes with the holes filled and requires the buyer to cut them out. As the representative said: "We leave it up to the buyer in case they want to keep it filled". Again, why ask at all. All of the mats fit perfectly and looked good. That's the "Pro". The problem is when any foot pressure is added, they "SLIDE". This s because the bottom of the mat is smooth with no grip when placed on carpet. Something I was not expecting. Called Weathertech and there is nothing they can do about it. Actually was told that Weathertech recognized this problem and the newer units now something on the bottom to reduce this situation. In closing, if you have a vehicle that uses Weathertech's older model mats, then I would be cautious and reconsider.

Weathertech Mats

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I purchased front floor mats from the "Weathertech" website for both my wife's 2010 GMC Acadia and later front floor mats for my 2012 GMC Sierra 1500 Pickup. In both cases they turned out to be a piece of ugly ill fitted mats and waste of money.

After several cleanings the weathertech label came off. The mats for both vehicles never fit properly in either vehicle, they would never lay flat (supposed to be laser fitted , what a joke).

I later bought Huskey brand floor mats for both vehicles and they fit perfect and are easier to keep clean! I would recommend Huskey brand any day!

Mats were initially black. After a month they started to turn white.

Washing them dies nothing.

Not worth the money. At least I can clean the carpet and replace the mats that come with car for far less money and have it look clean and neat.

Liner leakage

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I ordered the front floor liners for my 2017 Equinox. They fit perfect, look good and are great for keeping everyday dirt and grime off of the carpeting, but offer very poor protection from snow and water.

There are very low cutouts on the sides of the liners alongside the center console for an air vent near the floor. Because of this cutout, water and slush just roll off the liner and onto the carpet creating one large pool of water beneath the liner.

Very poor design on Weathertech's part. Don't blame GM for vent placement, if you cannot design a liner to do what you advertise, then don't offer a liner for that specific vehicle.

Customer Service phone line horrible

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The phone number that you have to call to get a return authorization number takes forever. Waiting 15 minutes or longer to get anyone on the phone is not acceptable.

You are placed into their queue wait list to hold forever. I tried several times and the shortest queue I was given was 28. The product itself is very good. But the wait time to get my return approved was ridiculously long.

They need to do something to make this quicker. You can not get a return number on-line. You must call their number and wait and wait.

Not good at all.. You heard me.

Today is the 31st. I have called Weather Tech everyday since the 25th .

Everyday i listen to prerecorded message and then get told my place in the queue. One day it was 186, next day it was 272, then 121, then 262, and today it was 239. Realistically who can wait that long !!!

Great product, lousy customer service. Difficult to recommend to anyone else, or for me to comfortably use again

Terrible curl up of my mat

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My Ford F-150 back seat mat from Weathertech curled up quickly after I installed it. Called Weathertech and was told to put something heavy on it to hold it down what like for how long? Stupid suggestion I finally had to cut a sizable chunk of it off. Forget calling them.

Poor design for BMW X3

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Purchased "laser measured for a perfit fit" floor mats for both front and the back. Passenger front map has no grip and every time a passenger enters and exits the vehicle the mat always slides forward three to four inches. I always adjust the placement of the mat on a daily basis. Notwithstanding the claim that "floor mats are engineered to stay flexible in even the coldest of temperatures" the material is brittle and will crack where the edges bend with normal ingress and egress of the vehicle. I live in Florida; however, their clam of flexibility for the mats may be appropriate for Fairbanks Alaska. I will not buy this product again

GREAT MARKETING, *** PRODUCTS!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
WeatherTech - GREAT MARKETING, *** PRODUCTS!!!

After watching this company advertise on every tv channel I finally spent roughly $260 per car for 2014 Lincoln MKT and 2016 Tahoe. I have had both complete sets swapped out under warranty and it was just emailed the return label to send the product back for a refund due to curling.

You can see on the 2nd set I went as far as to Velcro the mats in to the plastic trim panel and still failed! Although I am receiving a full refund it is still a lot of aggravation to have to Take the time to print a shipping label, go to the FedEx store and buy a box and ship them. time is to. Valuable to be returning car floor mats of all things!

VERY EXPENSIVE AND DOES NOT RETAIN THE SHAPE. Picture speaks a thousand words.

Received a full set of WeatherTech mats for my Mercury as a gift; front, rear, and trunk liners. Value somewhere around $300-$400.

After four years, one of the four pieces that sees very little use has become droopy and misshapen. It can no longer keep water off the floor because it has degraded I called to ask about the lifetime warranty (printed all over the product and the packaging) and they said I'd need to show them a receipt. What kind of business is this? The item was barely used and has a defect.

Lifetime warranty means lifetime warranty - you didn't provide a warranty card, or tell me I needed to keep my receipt!

Bad business! I'm buying Husky Liners from now on.

I bought mine brand new and they too are shrinking or misshapen now. Will call about warranty to see if they are willing to do anything about it..if not then i will probably do the same and buy different mats since there are more options on market now than a few years ago.

Shut up not even same band as they have now

What does that even mean? This is a now 7 year old Weathetech product.

They promise a lifetime warranty. It looks the same as any other Weathertech.

Window Deflectors

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Bought twice channel window deflectors and the front driver and passenger front the back end broke when and had to push out to make window fit right and then lower them after set for twelve hours. And the back one the adhesive did not hold on back when roll down the back windows down move then out and then later fell out when driving down the road.

Bad to send over $100.00 for them and not fit right and break and loose down the road also.

This was on a 2007 pontaic G6 and also on my other vehicle had a 2013 Hyundia Tuscon also. And another $100.00 gone for trying them again by the install form comes with it .
